Mr. Swenson

Students are expected to have a basic understanding of the topics in the course description. They must complete all work on time and participate in class discussions. The students are also expected to gain an appreciation for what others have done in the past so that they can enjoy the life they now have in our class.

Eighth grade Social Studies is a year long course with major emphasis on the history of the United States before World War I. The course covers various changing cultures, wars, inventions, nationalism, sectionalism, the political process, and citizenship. On a regular basis, students share news articles with the class.
