| Class Description: Chemistry is a higher level laboratory science class usually offered to Juniors and Seniors. Chemistry is the study of the composition, structure, and properties of substances and the changes they undergo. It meets the requirements for high school graduation and for college entrance. Topics covered include an introduction to Chemistry and matter, elements, and symbols, atoms, arrangement of electrons in atoms, the periodic law, chemical bonding, chemical formulas and chemical compounds, chemical equations and reactions, stoichiometry, phases of matter, solutions, ions in aqueous solutions, acids and bases, acid-base titrations and pH. You should have a good knowledge of Algebra 1 and Physical Science before taken this class.
