COURSE DESCRIPTION

This class provides a broad overview of both our energy sources and our use of controlled energy and power.  

 

TOPICS COVERED

Intro: Energy/Power systems, Transportation Systems, Vehicular, Land Transportation Systems, Marine Transportation Systems, Air Transportation Systems, Space Transportation System, and Transportation and Society.

 

PLACE WITHIN A PROGRAM OF STUDY: This is an elective class. Students may participate in this course at any time during high school

LENGTH: this is a one-semester course, which meets 310 min. 3 days per week.

 

MAJOR COURSE PROJECTS

  1. Energy research and report.

  2. Land vehicle project.

  3. Air vehicle project.

  4. Water vehicle project.

  5. Space vehicle project.

  6. Future transportation research and report.

 

GRADING

A grade is divided in 4 equal parts:

  1. Daily participation - 25%

  2. Class Projects - 25%

  3. Performance - 25%

  4. Examinations - 25%
